III. Detailed Operational Procedures
(1) Preliminary Preparations
• Environmental requirements: Temperature must be maintained at (24±2) °C, relative humidity ≤ 85% RH, with no condensation; ensure the site is free from vibration, dust, corrosive gases and flammable or explosive gases.
• Prepare an industrial-grade general-purpose infrared thermometer and calibrate its measurement error within the 0–100 °C range.
• Connect the blackbody radiation source’s power cable to a 220 V power supply; switch on the fan first, then switch on the main power switch.
(2) Blackbody Radiation Source Heating and Cooling Procedure
1. Cooling Process
• First, lower the blackbody radiation source from room temperature to 0°C. Press the ‘Set Temperature’ button, enter the temperature value 0°C, then press the ‘Cooling’ button once and turn the knob to the ‘Cooling’ position; the blackbody radiation source will automatically begin to cool down.
• When the temperature has dropped to 0°C, aim the infrared thermometer at the opening of the radiation source’s measurement chamber; the temperature reading should be 0°C. Next, press the ‘Stop’ button and turn the dial to ‘Stop’. Only once the blackbody radiation source has naturally returned to room temperature may the heating mode be activated.
2. Heating (Temperature Increase) Process
• First, press the ‘Set Temperature’ button and enter the temperature value 20°C. Then, turn the dial to the ‘Heating’ mode and press the ‘Heat’ button; the blackbody radiation source will automatically begin to heat up.
• When the blackbody radiation source display shows a temperature of 20 °C, aim the infrared thermometer at the measurement port of the radiation source; the temperature reading should be 20 °C.
• Repeat the same procedure, setting the temperature to 40 °C, 60 °C, 80 °C and 100 °C; when aiming the infrared thermometer at the measurement port of the radiation source, the readings should be 40 °C, 60 °C, 80 °C and 100 °C respectively.
• Once heating is complete, press the ‘Stop’ button and turn the knob to ‘Stop’ mode; the blackbody radiation source will then begin to cool down naturally.
• When the temperature has returned to room temperature, switch off the power supply and the fan switch to conclude the measurement.

• When using the device on-site, ensure the power plug is securely earthed to prevent electrical faults.
• Place the unit on a workbench where it is easy to operate, ensuring it is kept level; it must not be subjected to vibration during use.
